Danish Language Education 1, 2 and 3 each correspond to 1–2 years of full-time study.

Many participants choose to combine their studies with work or other activities, which often extends the duration.

You have up to five years to complete the programme, giving you the flexibility to learn at your own pace.

You study online from your computer – at home, at the office, or on the go. It’s entirely up to you.

All classes are taught by our experienced teachers from our language centre in Aars.

Danish Language Education is available to newly arrived internationals aged 18 or above who have:

• A residence permit or permanent legal residence in Denmark, along with a registered address in a Danish municipality,

or

• Permanent residence under EU regulations and an address in a Danish municipality.

It is also available to EU cross-border commuters who work or run a business in Denmark while living outside the country.

For most participants, Danish Language Education is free of charge.

However, in some cases a deposit of DKK 2,000 is required before you can begin. This applies if you are self-supporting (for example, working or studying in Denmark) or if your right to free education has expired (meaning you have lived in Denmark for more than five years).

If you are in Denmark as a refugee, through family reunification, or as an au pair, you do not need to pay the deposit.
